The Owners story:

In September 2015, we had been searching for almost 12 months to find the perfect house to start our lives together. With only 35 days until our wedding, and on the verge of giving up, we found this little house at 28 Franklin Street, and fell in love.

We were cautioned by our families, who saw a house that needed a lot of work. But we saw a house with beautiful character that needed a lot of love; and love we gave it. As an interior designer and an engineer, from 2015 to 2021 we renovated the bathroom, the kitchen, the front verandah, the back deck and the laundry. We also added the gatehouse and painted everything, both inside and out. Along the way we tore down some walls, levelled floors and ceilings and spent time fixing the unseen things like drainage.

We have drunk hundreds of coffees with the morning sun shining through the kitchen, we've probably had too many brunches and lunches at Café O'Mai or Billy Kart Kitchen, we've enjoyed numerous sunsets with a wine on the front verandah and plenty of cold nights by a brazier fire on the front pavers. We have so many great memories in this house and will be very sad to leave it behind.

We have loved watching as this little home with great character was transformed into the vision we had for it. We hope you will love it like we have. It will love you back.
