PRICE REDUCED - $57,500 - URGENT SALE DUE TO DETERIORATING HEALTH!!

We are selling our café for one reason only, and that is due to my husband’s health. So this is a must sell situation, and it is priced accordingly.

This café is ideally suited to a cook, chef or couple, with the use of casual staff of one or two as required, depending on what your intentions are. It will make a great, new life style in beautiful Hervey Bay.

Café location is close to the Hervey Bay CBD centre, on a major road leading in to the CBD, and one street back from the Esplanade. It has a large street frontage but is part of a complex, containing three health services and a veterinary clinic, as well as a range of other businesses. We are in a locale that has many varied businesses, giving a wide demographic customer base and not being reliant on any one section.

We have spent a lot of time over the past 12 months doing improvements and promoting the café. So far, we have built a sound reputation for quality fresh food and a clientele base which is solid but varied i.e. we are not reliant on tourism but do have tourist trade, which is one of many areas that can be developed and explored. Our monthly turnover figures will reflect this, as well as our steady increase and development.

Unfortunately, due to my husband’s health, we are unable to continue to build on this growth, which also includes functions and catering. Currently, we are only doing what comes to us as we’re not capable of coping with the additional time and extra workload associated with this, together with the time needed for promotion. We are growing simply by word of mouth.

The café is set up with inside dining, as well as outside dining on two decks - the larger under the gazebo and the smaller under umbrellas, with tables and seating for approximately 40.

Our original research and business plan was to open for morning and lunch for 5 days, then close and reopen for the dinner session on 3 or 4 nights, and offer BYO facilities. We are regularly asked when this may happen, but again due to health it is not possible. Our trade has been morning through to late lunch Monday to Friday, and Saturday morning through lunch, with the occasional function and catering work.

Café design is such that it is quite easily managed by one person. The pass through from the kitchen to front service coffee machine area gives a good view of the dining room. Two people, with preparation, are sufficient the majority of the time, but extra help is needed during peak times. For us, it is the lunch time period.

Layout is dining room, bar area which has ample counter space and storage above and below, with two refrigerated display cabinets. The drinks area has a two group head espresso machine and coffee grinder, bar fridge, milkshake equipment, etc. The kitchen has natural gas oven and cook top - four burners and one hot plate - a two basket deep fryer and also gas hot water. There is a fridge/freezer for day use, a 1.8 x 1.8m walk-in cold room, ample bench space and storage/shelving. Also included is a convection microwave, toasters, mixers, etc. good sink area and dishwasher.

A large chest freezer, large upright freezer, 8 tray bain marie, and dry store area with ample storage and shelving are housed in a room off the kitchen. This area also contains an office area with desk and shelving, together with more room for storage (or anything it’s needed for). There is a side entrance into the storage room, and a back entrance with a herb garden, very handy!

All plant & equipment, fittings, gazebo, etc, are included, with the exception of some personal items. A full list is available, along with financials, on request by serious enquiries.

There has been a café or restaurant on this site since the complex was built in the mid 1990s. We have built a great rapport with a lot of our customers. The café has a good feel to it, something that a lot of customers comment on, and why they return.

We are proud of what we have achieved and the friendships we have made, but health must come first, and this will be to the benefit of someone.

Enquiries welcome day or night, but please try to avoid the lunch time session.

Thank you.
